Dec 09 '06 We will be performing live with the René Engel Band dec. 19th at De Non Amersfoort. Check their site for info and showtime. Got some new recordings done the past few months. You can listen to 'Eurotop' for the new album with Antti Kotikoski here and I also did a new recording called 'Jizz' for Bas Cornelissen's new solo album that you can check out here. Two new albums I'm playing on are ready for pre-ordering now! I recorded a song called 'Under The Influence' earlier this year for The Alchemists II - '15 Tracks Of Total Guitar Wizardry' that will be out on Liquid Note Records. You can already pre-order the cd by clicking here. Also, Moon Baker's new album is ready for pre-order here.

Oct 01 '06 Finished recording a couple of tracks for various projects, you can listen to 'Amsterdam(Half Broken)' written by, and appearing on the forthcoming Hallebeek/Kotikoski album here. Another track is 'Go For It MF' (wonder what that stands for) from Bas Cornelissen's new solo album that will be out later this year, featuring some great special guests. A challenging solo with lots of changes for sure, listen to that one here. That song is written by Frans Vollink who also play bass on there. The last one is a track called 'Fives' composed by Antti Kotikoski for his solo album. Listen by moving that mouse and clicking here.
I did an interview with Zakk Wylde, who's of course from Ozzy Osbourne and his own Black Label Society for this month's issue of the Music Maker. You can view the cover here, read page 1 here and page 2 here. The whole conversation will be printed on the interviews section of this site shortly.

Sept 01 '06 Essential Guitarist :: Richard Hallebeek :: LNR :: Fusion Jam Competition
And the winner is...Rick Graham! We were pleased to receive such amazing entries from players all over the world doing their take of 'New Day', but there can only be one winner, so listen for yourself! You can check out Rick's solo here and visit his site here. Rick's prize includes a personal lesson from me, Liquid Note Record's current discography and a forthcoming interview with the folk at essential guitarist.com. Congrats Rick!

July 12 '06 Essential Guitarist :: Richard Hallebeek :: LNR :: Fusion Jam Competition
The entries are in! Thanks everybody who joined the competition for jamming over the New Day backing track at the Essential Guitarist site, sending it out to us and letting us hear your take on the song. We heard some great stuff there and I surely learned some new licks! Thanks for taking the time to learn the song and the challenging harmonies. It was great to realize the song made it all over the world, from Mexico to Italy, from the States to the UK, guitarists were jamming on New Day. The winner will be announced within a few weeks, getting all the good stuff. Who will it be...? Stay tuned!

June 08 '06 We will play our first gig with Moon Baker at Gooisch Podium, june 11, start 18:00.
May 07 '06 I did an interview with Steve Vai for this month's issue of Dutch magazine Music Maker. You can read the first part here, if you want to read more, go and buy the mag.The Richard Hallebeek Project has been one of the best selling cd's in 2004 at the Guitar9 website, view the statistics here. Also thanks everybody for voting for me at the guitar poll website, getting me up to #6! View here. April 11 '06 Essential Guitarist :: Richard Hallebeek :: LNR :: Fusion Jam Competition
Fancy jamming on a backing track and having your solo judged by the EG Team, Matt Williams of UK virtuoso label, Liquid Note Records and Rich Hallebeek? Fancy winning the whole LNR catalogue ? (RHP/JAM...etc..), getting an interview with you published on the award-winning Essential Guitarist website, getting your winning track published on the three aforementioned sites? Fancy winning a guitar lesson from me? Sound at all tempting?
If you answered yes to any of those, then your next step is to enter our exciting competition here. Simply download the backing track 'New Day', get jamming and let me hear what you’re all about. Good luck!

March 25 '06 I wrote a guitar lesson for the award-winning Essential Guitarist website. This time I discuss phrasing through changes. A hard subject to teach, but with lots of recorded examples that are written out in notes and tab and a jam track for you to play over, you can't go wrong. You can check out Phrasing Through Changes, part one here and Phrasing Through Changes, part two here.

March 14 '06 I'm mixing a song called 'Under The Influence' I did with Antti Kotikoski for The Alchemists II. The final mix should be ready this month and out in a couple of months on Liquid Note Records. You can already listen to a bit here. That song features Marco Minnemann on drums and Jaan Wessman (Mike Keneally, a.o.) on bass. I always enjoy a good anagram and a good one for Jaan Wessman's name would be 'Sane Man's Jaw', which also could be a great link for his website. If you're in Europe, you can now also order Richard Hallebeek Project directly at GuitarEuroShop, rather than ordering from the various UK and US sites that stock Liquid Note Records CD's. If you want to get just one song at a time, RHP is also available at Itunes.

Jan 18 '06 A couple of new gigs with various groups have been confirmed: 21 dec: One Spirit Quartet ( Rob Van Bavel, keys, Bas Cornelissen, drums,Frans Vollink, bass) in Emmen, Rue De La Gare, start 22.00. And in Andijk, One Spirit Quartet, Zaal Cultura, feb 5. René Engel Band: Gronau, Jazz Fest , april 24. In the future, all the new dates will be moved to the new TOUR button you can find above right.
