The Emmen Experience

Bas Cornelissen's MDF studio is a very nice place that is the perfect practise environment. Great parents, landscapes, cows, it's all there. We stuffed the room with my 85 pedals, four of the Bose cylindrical speaker systems that we got to use for this tour and Lale's keys and Fender Rhodes and started blasting. Two half days of rehearsals got us through the material. The majority of the setlist is from the RHP, but we also rehearsed a ballad from Udo called 'TMA' from his album 'The Pitch Pine Project' and some older songs from Lale, 'Ominox' and 'Labyrinth'.

I remember hearing 'Ominox' over ten years ago when I was attending the GIT in L.A. Lots of great players there but there was a buzz about a young Swedish keyboard player called Lale Larson who could play over anything and sounded amazing. He just did some recordings that were supposed to be released by Varney. I remember being blown away by hearing his stuff, especially 'Ominox'.. Little did I know back then that ten years later we would share the stage, playing that same tune.
